“Phyllis (Jack) Webstad wore a bright orange shirt with pride on her first day at Residential School in Williams Lake, BC, only to have it taken away, never to be seen again. Years later Phyllis created Orange Shirt Day, a day when you can honour Residential School Survivors and stand up against racism and bullying. It is one of the fastest-growing reconciliation projects in Canada.”
